About this place
If you’re choosing a few yakitori skewers, consider adding the cheese chicken meatballs. One visitor singled them out as a favourite; they appear on the menu as “Cheese Chicken Meatballs (2 skewers)”. At Torikobo, Kumataten, you could order an assortment to sample classic skewers, or pick individual items with their own flavour combinations, such as chicken tenderloin wrapped in shiso or grilled with wasabi.
Another dish that made an impression in reviews was the homemade deep-fried tofu. It’s an easy choice to add between skewers, and the menu also has quick-to-order starters such as edamame and dried baby sardines with grated daikon.
Chicken sashimi is another highlight. One diner praised the chicken sashimi, and the menu includes chicken tenderloin sashimi and seared Satsuma jidori chicken, as well as assortments of three or five kinds. The assortments offer a way to try chicken prepared differently from grilled skewers, or to share several varieties among a group.
For a final dish, the choices include the signature chicken rice bowl, served with egg, green onion and soup; charcoal-grilled chicken oyakodon; and chicken broth ramen. For something lighter, there’s chicken rice porridge or ochazuke with a grilled rice ball. You can also order à la carte, or choose a course with yakitori, fried dishes, rice or noodles and 2 hours of all-you-can-drink. Courses may suit a group meal. Dinner reservations are available, and some visitors recommend booking for weekends.
